About the character[]
Mr. Tenma is Astro Boy's creator in most of his canonical incarnations and he also appears in Jetter Mars having the role of a grieving man who lost his wife and only son in a car crash.
Story[]
After moving into a small ranch, Mr. Tenma sees Jetter Mars wandering around his property, he saw that Jetter Mars resembled his lost son Tobio, he then donned a knights armor and saved Jetter Mars from a trap he fell into. Mars, not being the brightest tool in the shed, thought the Knight was a rather weak robot, then Mr. Tenma still donning the knight armor, pretended to have lost a lot of energy and requested some from Mars. However, Mars energy was drained almost entirely. Upon hearing this, Mr. Tenma revealed himself to be a human, shocking Mars, who realized too late that it was a trap and then shut down. Later a group of gangsters arrived and Mr. Tenma tried to work with the gangsters to have Mars remodeled to appear more like the deceased Tobio, however, shortly afterward, the gang leader betrayed him saying he would rather steal Mars and kill Mr. Tenma. A character named Adios appeared in time to prevent Mr. Tenma's death and forced the gangsters to restore Mars energy. With the criminals taken care of, Mr. Tenma told Mars his sad story about his lost son and wife and asked if Mars would like to live with him. Mars told Mr. Tenma that he had his own family and also a place to return. Mr. Tenma said that's unfortunate, but he won't give up and will adopt a son.

- This is one of the only versions of Dr. Tenma that didn't create a child replacement, he instead attempts to kidnap Mars and turn him into his adoptive son instead.
- It's worth of note that Mr. Tenma may have adopted a child following these events.
- In the Sound Track cover art for Jetter Mars, the image features Mr. Tenma and Dr. Yamanoue arguing with each other in the same car, which is driven by Dr. Kawashimo. These events aren't possible since Dr. Yamanoue died prior to Mr. Tenma's introduction. That picture can be seen below:
