Osamu Tezuka (手塚 治虫) was a Japanese man with a wide variety of occupations including a manga artist, animator, cartoonist, film producer, and a medical doctor. He was born on November 3, 1928, in Osaka Prefecture and he has since earned the title of being "the godfather of manga". Osamu Tezuka is often considered the Japanese equivalent of Walt Disney since he pioneered the age of cartoon Anime with his famous cartoon Astro Boy. While he didn't create or do everything in the Jetter Mars series, he did design most of the characters, Rintaro did most of the other things for the Jetter Mars series. Sadly, Tezuka died of stomach cancer on February 9, 1989.
