The Ministry of Science is a ministry that studies science, particularly robots; such as Jetter Mars, or Astro Boy.
The role of the head of the Ministry of Science belongs to a scientist named Dr. Yamanoue, who believes strongly that robots are meant to fight in wars and such. Because of this, he decides to build a robot named "Jetter Mars" after the god of war, Mars.

After Dr. Yamanoue's untimely death the role of the head of the Ministry of Science belonged to Professor Tawashi. Who proceeded to attempt to steal Jetter Mars to use for his own personal gain. He, however, fails and Mars is left up to the care of Dr. Kawashimo, Mars' co-creator.
